Final Fantasy III Unlocker Released

It's time for a new unlocker. Google bans unlockers for games that have in-app purchases for the same goals. Since most games nowadays get their income from in-app purchases, it has been difficult to find new games to unlock.

Then I found the Final Fantasy series. That's a great series of RPG games, and I found myself stuck on several occasions, whilst playing Final Fantasy III. If you are in the same position, my new unlocker might be the tool for you! Just use the unlocker sparingly, as you risk making the game too easy. Still, I can highly recommend the game, if you love a good RPG.

USGA Handicap app removed

Sadly, another app is now removed from Google Play: USGA Handicap Calculator. Apparently, USGA thought that the app was used for official handicap calculations, instead of personal use only. Also, my very-much-like-USGA-logo logo was too much like the real USGA logo. So there you have it: the app is removed. Sorry, nothing I can do about it.

Unlockers for Asphalt 5,6,7 removed from Google Play

Sadly, I got a notice from Google that the unlockers for Asphalt 5, 6, and 7 are removed from Google Play. I have asked for the reasons for removal, but I haven't got a reply yet, so I don't know when (if ever) these unlockers will be republished.

To the best of my knowledge there is nothing illegal about these unlockers, and I do think they are in line with Google's Terms of Service. If I am proven wrong, then I will of course remove all unlockers from Google Play.

My only reason for making unlockers is to provide people with a tool to help them get through difficult parts of games, for which they already paid. In my personal experience I've encountered several times that an update of a game resulted in corrupted progress files, so I had to start these games all over again. Also, if I want to play legally acquired games on two or more different devices, I always have to start again from scratch. To remedy these annoyances I made the unlockers as well.

Unlocker for Asphalt 7 released

I wasn't planning on releasing an unlocker for Asphalt 7, but I got so many requests for that one that I had to give in. So here is it: A7 Unlocker. Note that you need root access to your device to make it work (there is no other way to do it). Enjoy the unlocker, and give me some feedback if you can.

Updated unlockers

In the last two months all unlockers have been updated to fix various issues reported by users. Most notably the following fixes were made:

• Asphalt5 unlocker:  Support for some HD versions of the game (latest version is now v2012.07).
• Asphalt 6 unlocker: Unlocking of missing car, fix for NoGDfsiNoRT, screen rotation bugfix (latest version is now v2012.08.23)
• Hot Pursuit unlocker: Fix for devices where the unlock button could not be seen because of the font size, fix for some device (e.g. SonyEricsson) where installed game was not detected (latest version is now v2012.09)
• Need for speed shift v1 and v2: Finds more versions of the game, bugfix for devices where VW Golf was missing after unlocking all cars (latest version is now v2012.09)
• ShadowGun unlocker: Feedback if expansion pack or original game not played, added support for Galaxy S3 version of incross (latest version is now v2012.09)

I frequently get feedback e-mails about these issues, and others that have been fixed even longer ago. It appears that Google Play content takes a long time to be updated to current releases in some countries. I have no clue why, and I cannot do anything about it. All I can say is that you have to wait for the update or PM me so I can send you the updated file directly.

Note however that if you install the files directly (so outside Google Play), then Google Play will not notify you of future updates of the unlocker. In order to receive updates again, you have to uninstall the side loaded unlocker, and reinstall the version of the market. There is absolutely no difference between the version I can send you and the updated version available in the market, it's just that Google Play doesn't know what you have installed if you do not install it through Google Play.

ShadowGun Unlocker Released

Just today I published the unlocker for MadFinger's ShadowGun. This unlocker is a bit different than the other ones, but then again, ShadowGun is not really a racing game, is it?

ShadowGun Unlocker allows you to select which weapons to carry along, and how much ammo you want to have for it: either fill it up to the max, or set it to infinity. In the latter case you also don't have to worry about reloading you weapon; just press fire and keep pressing fire! Apart from that you can also set your resume position (level and checkpoint), so if any checkpoint offends you, just skip to the next one.

Asphalt 6 unlocker released!

Finally the much asked after unlocker for Asphalt 6 has been released. I could not test it on a lot of devices, but as so many people asked for it, I decided to publish it early. Get it from Google Play

bcrypt for Android

I ported Johnny Shelley's bcrypt tool to Android. Now finally there is a true cross-platform encrypt/decrypt tool. As Shelly wrote:

New code base for all unlockers: root no longer needed!

I rewrote the code for my unlockers. Now they all share the same code base, which makes it easier to update for me. But guess what: Now most devices don't need ROOT access any more for the Asphalt 5 Unlocker and the Hot Pursuit Unlocker! So I took away the root required part in the title of these apps.

Hot Pursuit Unlocker released!

Today I released the Unlocker for Need For Speed Hot Pursuit in the market. There were quite some requests for this, so I hope everybody will enjoy this Unlocker!

New app in the market: USGA Handicap Calculator

I just published the USGA version of the EGA Handicap Calculator. I was asked to make one so, here it is. If you are a regular golf player, you want to be able to quickly see the progress you have made in the last couple of months, right? I know I do, so here it is, get it from the market. This app calculates what your handicap index would be according to the latest USGA rules if you would submit all the game score you stored in the app.

Asphalt 5 Unlocker published

After the success of the Need For Speed Shift Unlocker, I now released the Asphalt 5 Unlocker. Although the Asphalt 5 game is more difficult than the Need For Speed game, it is actually more fun to play. And to make it even more attractive there is now an unlocker to speed up your game.
Right now the unlocker gives you plenty of money, all regular cars and girls, and access to all events. Later updates will bring some more features.

Free version of EGA Handicap Calculator

I just released the free version of the EGA Handicap Calculator. There is quite some interest for this app. And I got a request to build the same app with USGA rules. Fine with me, if somebody can give me the USGA equivalent of the Stableford score handicap improvement system?

Major update of X-Ray Attenuation Calculator

I just updated the X-Ray Attenuation Calculator, to also include the NIST database of compounds. Besides, the graph engine has been update to the latest achartengine, which was published a few days ago. This version of achartengine should be compatible with android 1.5 and 1.6 again, so if requested I will change the app to be available for those android versions too.

Archos Gen8 kernel with iptables and ext4

The Archos 70Sit is a very nice and cheap Android tablet. However, it can do with some improvements. If you want te have

• the latest stock firmware
• root access
• 1GB ext4 data partition
• iptables support for Droidwall

then you better read further!
 
Thanks to the great work done by recognized XDA devs as chrulri and $aur0n I now managed to compile my own kernel for stock Archos Gen8, with support for iptables (so Droidwall can be used) and ext4 (so a 1GB ext4 /data partition can be made on internal sd card).

NFS Shift Unlocker Unlocker for internal sd

Finally solved the problem users had running NFSS Unlocker on devices with  preinstalled NFSS 2.x. (eg A500, some galaxy tabs, etc). For those devices root access is required for the Unlocker.

Updates and new free version of X-Ray Attenuation Calculator

NFS Shift Unlocker: At least there is still one person out there who says the NFS Shift Unlocker doesn't work for a device. So I updated the Unlocker to make it easier for people to report if the Unlocker does not work (and hopefully the feedback will let me track down the bug for the unlucky few).

X-Ray Attenutation Calculator: I only now found out that achartengine 0.6 does not work on android 1.6, so I in the latest update I changed the requirements. Also a possible bugfix on screen rotation was fixed, and the size of the app was decreased.

NFS Shift Bug Fixed!

I put an update on the market (version 2011.07b) of the Need For Speed SHIFT Unlocker tool. This should fix "app doesn't work" issues. Please update your tool from the market (free for all that bought the app).

Sorry for all inconveniences.  I didn't realize that data files were stored in different locations for different devices.
